Are you struggling to find a strong enough reason to go again? There are various reasons why you may find it hard to have the motivation or strength to go after what you desire to pursue, achieve, or accomplish. It may be that you are tired of failing. You could be fatigued and worn out. Maybe you have feel embarrassed and are now believing the voices of naysayers that are saying you should quit. It comes down to the question: Why should you go again?
What Does Go Again Mean?
Before answering why, let’s address what it means to go again? To me, going again is finding a strong enough reason to try again after being halted or experiencing a setback. Going again means refacing the challenges that knocked you down or pushed you back. It’s having the courage to overcome the obstacles that once stopped you from progressing. Going again means getting back in motion and defeating whatever has stopped you from progressing towards your goals.
Personally, there are several areas in my life that I have to have the determination to go again. For instance, pursuing business and fitness are the two main areas of my life that I have had to decide over and over again to go again. While I am a “fit” guy, I am no where near my goals. Even for business, Fitness By Digits has been something I have had in my heart to grow and launch for years, but yet find myself further away from where I envisioned being at this point. There have been many times I have wanted to quit on both because I couldn’t find the time or space to really go all in. Disappointment set in even further when I thought I finally had the opportunity to go all in, but then experienced roadblocks and setbacks that forced me to accept an offer to go back to work after telling friends and family I was going to solely pursue ministry and business. Before the issue was putting everyone else first and my goals, dreams, and purpose on the back burner. At this point I felt like a failure. I began to wonder: Am I cut out for this? Why should I go again?
Why Go Again?
The first reason why you and I must go again is because if God says so, it’s a command and not a suggestion. A refusal to get back up and go again is a denial to God. Refusing to go again is burying the talents, gifts, and deposits He has placed on the inside of us. It is saying he is not enough and therefore we are not enough to go any further. To not do what we know we are supposed to do, or have been commanded to do, is sin. Therefore, when it comes to us pursuing whatever He has placed in our hearts to do, achieve, birth, or accomplish, we must go again no matter how many times we fall down or experience setbacks. Why? Because He said so.
The second reason why we must go again is because lives depend on it. It is not all about us. We are foolish to think that others are not impacted if we decide no to go again. Our obedience, or disobedience, to go again impacts those in every area of our influence, including any and all generations connected to them. No matter what our gifts, talents, calling, or purpose might be, we must choose to go again no matter what difficulties we face because lives truly depend on it.
Go Again Like Lives Depend On It
My sister in Christ, Trinity Anderson, has an organization that sells retail merchandise called Lives Depend On It. It is from her business that the second why this article speaks of is actually inspired. Trinity encourages people through her merchandise to pray, lead worship, teach, dance, sing, pray, preach, lead, love, and live like lives depend on it. Check out her page and get a visual reminder that you do what you are gifted, talented, and created to do because lives depend on it.
May we all have the courage, resilience, and perseverance to do all that God has called and created us to do like lives depend on it. We all make mistakes and have areas in which we can improve. That reality is no longer an acceptable excuse to not go again. You and I are called by God and we are His workmanship. Therefore we are commanded to go and keep going. As He continues to mold and shape us into who we need to be and become, let’s hear and obey His command to go again. Why? Because the lives He intends to use us to impact depend on it.
