Seize the opportunity. Coronavirus is affecting our lives in various ways. In the midst of uncertainty, this is my encouragement to you: seize the opportunity and resist regression.
Opportunity does not always come in the form we expect it to. You may be asking yourself how is this an opportunity? While there are some challenges we have to face, we are all being provided time and opportunities to do things we don’t normally get to do. Think about the things you normally tell yourself you don’t have time to do, engage in as much, or focus on. Whether you are still working, laid off, or on leave, there are opportunities for us to engage in now.
View the following to determine what opportunities you need to seize during this time.
Spiritual Goals and Opportunities
Seize the opportunity to grow your faith and deepen your relationship with the Lord. You’ve been wanting more time in the word and in prayer. Spend more time reading your bible and hearing from God. Pray with and over your family. View that podcast on that topic you struggle with. See what the word has to say about your current problems and struggles. Find, reflect on, and receive the promises of God. Work on that devotional. Complete that book study. Seize the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord and allow Him to reveal more of Himself to you. Check out Spiritual Fitness for additional thoughts and insight.
Mental Goals and Opportunities
Seize the opportunity to grow your mind and shape a positive view of yourself. Clear and renew your mind. Obstacles and challenges reveals our mental fitness. Replace hopelessness with faith. Now is the time to reshape your thinking about who you are and what you are capable of in Christ in the midst of crisis. Strengthen your belief in becoming the person God has called you to be. Physical Goals and Opportunities
Seize the opportunity to grow your health and body. You’ve complained about not having time to work out so here is your opportunity. No, you might not be about to go to the gym but you can work out at home. You’ve been wanting to eat healthier so let’s get cooking. You’ve been so overwhelmed and now is the time to rest for proper growth and development. Put the juice down and drink the water. Take this time you didn’t have before to research training, nutrition, and rest. Begin to incorporate what you have learned and develop new habits. Check out Physical Fitness for additional thoughts and insight.
Family Goals and Opportunities
Seize the opportunity to invest in and enjoy your family. The kids are home! You now have time to spend time and create memories with them that you did not have before. Love on your kids. Love on your spouse. Pray for and with them. Invest in their growth and development. Get creative with finding things to do together. Learn more about each other. Seize this opportunity of having time to be with one another and enjoy it. Make that phone call to that family member you’ve been wanting to talk to. This is an opportunity you won’t regret.
Personal Goals and Opportunities
Seize the opportunity to go after your goals and plans. Yes the details may need to be adjusted but that doesn’t mean you can’t achieve your goals anymore. Start the business you said you didn’t have time for. Work on that idea that you have been dreaming about but have not had the opportunity to develop. Research the calling God spoke to you and begin pursuing it. Research, grow, and develop your gifts and talents. Your investment in developing yourself now can lead to opportunities later you must be prepared for. When the opportunities come, it’s too late to prepare. Don’t wait, pursue! Develop the version of yourself the future you needs.
Seize Your Opportunities
Do not be paralyzed by fear or hopelessness. Pray and ask the Lord for the ability to see and act upon the opportunities He is wanting you to seize in this time. While you may have to adjust your plans, don’t press pause on the goals you’ve set for this year and your life. Though there are many adjustments to our lives we have to make, let’s not look back on this time and see that we’ve wasted it. Be fruitful in the midst of quarantine, isolation and social distancing. Trust and submit to the Holy Spirit in this season and come out stronger than you were when you entered it, not weaker!
This is your moment! Seize the opportunity!
