Priorities are set. You have made time in your calendar or schedule. Now let’s address the environment that is required for success. You have to make room for the things you set out to accomplish.
In many ways, making room can apply to what we previously discussed. We have to make room for our priorities by making room in our schedules. This is simply making time. It is great to have a plan but even the best intentions cannot achieve themselves. Action is required. Just because you have made room in your calendar does not mean you have made room in your life to maintain the priorities and tasks you wish to accomplish.
Look at your FBD Monthly Organizer or planner of your choice and determine what areas in your actual life you need to make room to actually execute what you have written on paper or typed in your document.
Ways To Make Room
- Make room in your morning to spend time with the Lord. Make room as far as having an actual physical space to meet with the Lord. Seek Him first and allow Him to prioritize and organize your day. Be prepared to make adjustments to your written plan if and when He chooses to.
- Make room in your physical space. Yes this applied to making space to meet with the Lord but also apply this to making room in your physical space so you can actually be productive. It is counter productive to plan to accomplish particular tasks in areas and spaces that are in disarray. You want your time block available to focus on the task, not shared with trying to get it in order so you can work too.
- Make room in your mind. Try your best to honor your commitments and priorities you set. Remove distractions Stop trying to multitask. Focus on the task at hand. If needed, keep a notepad nearby to jot down thoughts that arise that you need to address later.
- Make room in your day. Eliminate the dead time and space. It’s not that you cannot ever watch your favorite show or look through social media. Just be intentional. If you have priorities unaddressed in your schedule, move the recreational things over until you have spent time doing the things you know you are supposed to be doing.
